How SceneSort Pro handles information — which, by design, is almost none.
This Privacy Policy explains how [SceneSort Pro — Your Company Legal Name] (“SceneSort Pro”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the SceneSort Pro desktop application (the “Software”) and our website (the “Site”).
The short version: SceneSort Pro is 100% local software. It does not upload your files, send your library anywhere, collect telemetry, or require an account. We have no technical way to see what is in your collection.
SceneSort Pro runs entirely on your own computer. All scanning, filename cleaning, metadata extraction, studio and performer matching, duplicate detection and cataloging happen locally on your device. Your video files, file paths, catalog and backups never leave your PC and are never transmitted to us or any third party.
The studio and performer reference data ships inside the application and improves locally as you confirm matches. No internet connection is required to use any feature.

Our hosting provider may process standard technical request data (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) in server logs to operate and secure the Site. We do not use this to identify you personally.
Payments are handled by our reseller, Paddle (see Section 5). Paddle collects the billing details needed to process your order. We receive limited order information such as your email address, license key, country, and order reference — but not your full payment card details.
If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message so we can respond and keep a record of the correspondence.
The Site uses only what is necessary to function. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The Site may load web fonts from Google Fonts, which can involve a request to Google's servers; if you prefer, these can be self-hosted. The Software itself uses no cookies and makes no web requests.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com Market Ltd (“Paddle”), who is the Merchant of Record for all orders. Paddle handles payment, billing, invoicing, and related customer data, and processes your information in accordance with its own privacy policy, available at paddle.com/legal/privacy.
We use the limited information described above only to: deliver and validate your license; provide customer support; process refunds where applicable; operate, secure and improve the Site; and comply with our legal obligations.
We do not sell or rent your information. We share information only with the service providers needed to run our business — for example our payment reseller (Paddle), our email/support provider, and our website host — and only to the extent necessary. We may also disclose information where required by law.
We retain order and support records for as long as needed to provide the service, support your license, and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. You may ask us to delete information that we are not legally required to keep.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the limited personal information we hold about you (for example under the GDPR or CCPA). To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by applicable law. For payment data held by Paddle, you may also contact Paddle directly.
SceneSort Pro is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here.
